Simple Authentication Interface Guidelines Released... Cloud to Be Applied by Year-End
Contributing to the Activation of Various Electronic Signature Methods
for Private Sector Organizations
The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 5th that, together with the Korea Electronic Signature Forum, they have established the 'Simple Authentication Interface Guidelines' to support private user institutions aiming to adopt various electronic signature methods. Simple authentication refers to a method of using electronic signature services through easy means such as PIN numbers or biometric information instead of entering long passwords.
Although various electronic signature methods have been activated so far, private user institutions faced increased development complexity due to differing electronic signature functions and interoperability procedures for each individual electronic signature certification provider. In response, KISA prepared the 'Simple Authentication Interface Guidelines' as a proactive measure to enable private user institutions to easily adopt, interoperate, and safely use various electronic signature methods.

Oh Jin-young, Director of KISA's Digital Safety Headquarters, stated, “We plan to enhance the guidelines by the end of this year to include joint and financial cloud electronic signature services, and through this, we will continuously strive to enable the public to use more electronic signature methods easily and conveniently with a familiar user experience.”
