'Top-tier model' new iPhone priced at 2 million won?..."'Ultra' to be added"
Possibility of a Model Higher Than Pro Max
About $100 More Expensive... "Camera Enhancement"
There is a possibility that Apple’s latest smartphone series, the 'iPhone 15,' scheduled to be unveiled on the 12th, may include a top-tier model called 'Ultra.'
On the 4th (local time), well-known overseas IT tipster Majin Bu claimed on his X (formerly Twitter), "According to new information I have obtained, there will be changes to the iPhone 15 lineup."
He added, "Apple may unveil the Ultra alongside the Pro Max," and "The Ultra is a different model from the Pro Max. This year, the Pro Max will not be the best model."

Majin Bu cited data from iPhone case manufacturers as evidence supporting his claim. He explained, "It matches what the case manufacturers mentioned. Two models with a 6.7-inch size (the Pro Max size) have undergone testing."
The existing iPhone series has been released with four models in total: the base model, Plus, Pro, and the premium Pro Max. If the 'Ultra' is added, it would become a model above the Pro Max, resulting in a total of five iPhone models.
Regarding this, Majin Bu stated, "The iPhone 15 Pro Max is equipped with 6GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, but the Ultra is expected to have 8GB of RAM, up to 2TB of storage, and better camera features." Because of this, the Ultra model’s price could be $100 higher than the Pro Max.
If the Ultra model is added to the iPhone lineup, Apple’s premium strategy is likely to gain more momentum. However, from the consumer’s perspective, the price burden when purchasing a high-end model may increase.
According to information compiled from overseas Apple device media such as MacRumors, Apple is expected not to raise the price of the base iPhone 15 model this year, but the prices of higher-end models are likely to increase.

In particular, the current top-tier model, the Pro Max, is estimated to be priced between $1,199 and $1,299 (approximately 1,580,000 to 1,710,000 KRW), but if the Ultra model is added, the price could rise to as much as $1,399 (approximately 1,840,000 KRW). Considering value-added tax (VAT) and other fees, the price would exceed 2,000,000 KRW.
