Road Traffic Authority Inspects Roads Damaged by Heavy Rain and Typhoons... Identifies Improvement Measures
The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced that it has established safety facility improvement measures to prevent secondary damage and ensure rapid recovery for road sections damaged by heavy rain, and has provided these measures to local governments.
To inspect safety facilities damaged by heavy rain and typhoons this summer, the Authority formed an emergency disaster support team in the Chungbuk Branch, Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam Branch, and Gyeongbuk Branch, conducting urgent inspections on 305 km of road sections across 11 local governments including Sejong City and Cheongju City in Chungbuk.

View original imageThe emergency disaster support team conducted on-site investigations on road damage and drainage issues in the affected sections, as well as functional degradation of traffic safety facilities and road safety facilities, identifying 206 improvement measures including repainting road markings, restoring traffic safety facilities, and repairing road damage.
Specifically, 81 improvement measures were identified over a 40.3 km section in Chungbuk (Cheongju and Goesan), 61 measures over a 120.8 km section in Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam (Sejong, Gongju, Cheongyang, Nonsan, and Buyeo), and 64 measures over a 143.9 km section in Gyeongbuk (Mungyeong, Yecheon, Yeongju, and Bonghwa).
