'Night Tour of Namhansanseong Opens'... Seongnam City to Operate 12 Programs
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the '2023 Seongnam Cultural Heritage Night Tour' from the 8th to the 10th at Namhansanseong area and Sanseong Park Playground.
During the event, Seongnam City has prepared 12 night tour programs under 7 themes: Yahua (Night Painting), Yagyeong (Night Scenery), Yaro (Night Road), Yasa (Night History), Yaseol (Night Talk), Yashik (Night Food), and Yasi (Night Market).
On the first day of the event, the 'Muajigyeong Opening Ceremony,' highlighting the historical value and significance of Namhansanseong, will be held at Sanseong Park Playground.
A Pungnyu concert featuring traditional martial arts performances themed on the spirit of Namhansanseong, trot singer Hongja, National Intangible Cultural Heritage Gayageum Sanjo holder Lee Young-hee, Taepyeongmu holder Yang Seong-ok, and Seongnam City youth professional art teams will take place.
With prior reservation, participants can join the night walking program along the Namhansanseong fortress trail from Sanseong Rotary to West Gate, Suojeongdae, and South Gate, as well as the night exploration of Namhansanseong Haenggung including Manhae Memorial Hall, Iljanggak, Naehaengjeon, Oehaengjeon, and Hannamru.
Additionally, there will be media art screenings visualizing the dynamic image of Namhansanseong using advanced information and communication technology, experiential events such as traditional tea, Najeonchilgi (mother-of-pearl lacquerware), and Cheongsachorong (traditional lantern) making, and a moonlight art market.

A Seongnam City official stated, "The name 'Seongnam' means the south side of the fortress," adding, "In that sense, we chose Namhansanseong as the cultural heritage for the night tour to widely promote its historical meaning and value, and prepared an event combined with local human and material resources."
