Yoon Jae-gap, a member of the National Assembly and the regional committee chairman, strongly criticized the government's irresponsibility regarding the Itaewon disaster during last year's government questioning session with the Prime Minister.
In particular, he served as the Democratic Party's Special Committee Chairman on Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and the Jeonnam Provincial Party's General Countermeasure Committee Chairman to block the marine dumping of Fukushima nuclear power plant contaminated water. He undertook two protest visits to Japan and engaged in head-shaving and fasting protests to urge the halt of marine dumping.
