Homeplus "Pre-orders for Chuseok Gift Sets with Great Value and Safety Satisfaction Surge"
Homeplus announced on the 4th that the ‘2023 Chuseok Gift Set Pre-Reservation’ is driving sales growth both online and offline, led by food products. It is analyzed that satisfying the three key consumer concerns?quality, cost-effectiveness, and safety?has strengthened sales.
According to the mid-term analysis of the ‘2023 Chuseok Gift Set Pre-Reservation’ launched on August 10, fruit and seafood sales from August 10 to 31 recorded growth rates of 48% and 49%, respectively, compared to the same period of last year’s Chuseok pre-reservation. By item, pear sales increased by 126%, and gim (seaweed) by 58%.
By category, meat sets, which are preferred by customers for their convenient packaging and delivery when pre-ordered, included ‘LA-style frozen flower ribs (U.S.)’, ‘Traditional marinated beef bulgogi frozen set (1.6kg)’, and ‘LA-style frozen flower ribs (Australia)’. In fruits, steady sellers such as ‘apple’ and ‘pear’ showed strong performance, with high sales recorded for ‘Farmer’s Pride (GAP) apple and pear mixed set’, ‘Premium Shine Muscat set’, and ‘Farmer’s Pride (GAP) apple set’.
Seafood bestsellers included ‘Homeplus Signature ASC Certified Gijang Seaweed and Kelp Set’, ‘CJ Bibigo Chosari Gopchang Dolgim (No.1)’, and ‘Daecheon Gim Lunchbox Gim (54 packs) set’. Notably, efforts to offer safe seafood, such as obtaining international standards (MSC and ASC supply chain certification) before the discharge of contaminated water, selling environmentally friendly and ethical seafood, earned customer trust and contributed to sales. Homeplus has also completed most of the stockpiling for next year’s Lunar New Year sets in the first half of this year, ensuring thorough preparation.
Pre-reservations for Chuseok gift sets through online channels have also increased significantly. In fact, based on Homeplus online sales, total Chuseok gift set sales grew by more than 50%. Especially, liquor sales, which expanded online channels through the newly launched Easy Pickup service this year, surged by 172%.
