At a theme park in China, stuntmen riding motorcycles inside a net-shaped "Globe of Death" were performing when a fire broke out. The venue quickly turned into chaos.
According to the Daily Mail and other sources on the 2nd (local time), on the 29th of last month, during a performance by two riders at Happy Valley theme park in Wujinshan Park, Shanxi Province, northern China, sparks from a motorcycle led to a fire.
Videos posted on social networking services (SNS) show that while two stuntmen were rotating inside the "Globe of Death" on motorcycles, drawing an 'X' shape as they circled inside, one motorcycle suddenly fell to the ground.
A staff member outside the "Globe of Death" sprayed a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, and only after opening the door from outside was the injured stuntman able to escape. Despite the urgent situation with flames rising from the floor, the other motorcycle continued to rotate and the performance went on.
The audience watching the show screamed in shock and called for help.
The local cultural tourism office said the next day that the motorcycle stuntman was injured in the arms and legs and was transported to the hospital.
It was reported that the amusement park distributed free admission tickets as part of a promotional campaign that day, resulting in more visitors than usual.
