85-Year-Old Oldest Busan GED Passer... Pass Rate 87%
On the morning of the 1st, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced the list of successful candidates and individual scores for this year's 2nd Qualification Examination.
In this qualification exam, out of 2,111 applicants for the elementary, middle, and high school graduation courses, 1,782 took the test, and 1,550 passed, showing an average pass rate of 86.98%.
Among them, there were 21 perfect scorers: 1 in the elementary school course, 3 in the middle school course, and 17 in the high school course.
The oldest successful candidates demonstrated their vitality with an 85-year-old woman Seo Mo in the elementary school course, a 77-year-old man Jeong Mo in the middle school course, and a 79-year-old woman Nam Mo in the high school course.
The list of successful candidates and individual scores can be checked on the Metropolitan Office of Education’s website. They can also be confirmed through the ARS service using the office’s main phone number.
Certificates of passing will be issued at the Comprehensive Civil Service Office of the Metropolitan Office of Education from 10 a.m. on the 1st until 5 p.m. on the 6th (excluding 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays). If visiting the office is difficult, certificates can also be received by applying for civil mail service at the post office.
Certificates of passing and score reports can be issued starting from the 1st at all school administrative offices and education office civil service offices nationwide. They can also be issued online via Government24 and the NEIS National Service.

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to hold the “2023 2nd Qualification Examination Certificate Award Ceremony” at 2 p.m. on the 11th in the International Conference Room on the 6th floor of the annex building of the Metropolitan Office of Education, with about 60 attendees including representatives of the oldest and disabled successful candidates and their families.
