Over the Next 2 Years, 760,000 Households Nationwide to Move In... Half Concentrated in the Seoul Metropolitan Area

From the second half of this year to the first half of 2025, approximately 760,000 apartment units are expected to be newly occupied nationwide. The Seoul metropolitan area accounts for about half of this volume.
According to the 'Apartment Move-in Schedule Information' released on the 1st by the Korea Real Estate Board and Real Estate R114, the number of units scheduled for move-in over the next two years is estimated at 761,010 nationwide.
In the second half of this year, 243,212 units are expected to be occupied. For the entire next year, 350,900 units, and in the first half of 2025, 166,898 units are scheduled for move-in.
In particular, combining Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon, there are 369,308 units, with the Seoul metropolitan area accounting for 48.5% of the total volume. Seoul is expected to have 25,124 units in the second half of this year, 16,681 units next year, and 31,272 units in the first half of 2025. The total scheduled move-in volume is 73,077 units.

Over the next two years, Gyeonggi has the largest volume, with 223,772 units, accounting for 29.4% of the total. This includes 71,071 units in the second half of this year, 113,704 units next year, and 38,997 units in the first half of 2025. Incheon will have 72,459 units moving in over the next two years.
