Kumho Tire Sponsors '2023 Team Chaboom Germany Expedition'
Kumho Tire announced on the 31st that it has sponsored the ‘2023 Team Chaboom Germany Expedition,’ a project aimed at fostering youth soccer in Korea.
The Team Chaboom Germany Expedition is a program where 16 young soccer hopefuls who have received the Cha Bum-kun Soccer Award embark on an expedition to Germany to continuously develop the youth soccer environment in Korea.
The players experience friendly matches and joint training sessions with Bundesliga youth teams locally, and through advanced soccer culture and youth emotional exchanges, they can enjoy a special soccer journey.
In particular, during this event, Team Chaboom players had a special time conducting various events with Bayer 04 Leverkusen, a prestigious German soccer club and Kumho Tire’s official premium partner.
The Team Chaboom players toured Leverkusen’s home stadium, BayArena, and also played a friendly match against the Leverkusen U14 team.
Through this sponsorship, Kumho Tire promotes its brand on the Team Chaboom Germany Expedition players’ uniforms, YouTube, and other platforms.
Since the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Kumho Tire has signed a sponsorship contract as the global official tire partner with Bayer 04 Leverkusen of the German Bundesliga, increasing brand awareness in Germany.
Leverkusen is known as the team that produced Cha Bum-kun, nicknamed the ‘Brown Bomber’ and regarded as one of the best forwards of his time, as well as Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur), who is currently a central figure in the Premier League, making it a familiar club to us.
Recently, Kumho Tire signed a sponsorship contract as an official premium partner with the prestigious Italian soccer club AC Milan, actively engaging in sports marketing in the European market.
Kumho Tire’s sports marketing strategy has also positively impacted its performance improvement. This year, Kumho Tire’s first-half sales reached 2.003 trillion KRW, a 22.7% increase compared to the same period last year, and operating profit recorded 142.6 billion KRW, showing growth.
Especially in the European region, sales of replacement tires as well as tires for new cars increased, driving global growth.
