HiteJinro, Follow-up Investment in Namul Processing and Distribution Startup 'NT'
Selected as the Second Follow-up Investment Company to Promote Sustainable Growth
HiteJinro announced on the 30th that it has made a follow-up investment in the startup ‘NT,’ which operates the vegetable processing and distribution platform ‘Namultoday.’
Namultoday is a vegetable distribution service that contracts with farms across the country, including Jeju Island and Ulleungdo, and delivers vegetables produced through contract farming to consumers' tables after processing them in various ways. Namultoday’s differentiated core competencies include ▲providing rare varieties and seasonal vegetables ▲freshness-preserving delivery ▲subscription delivery service ▲and having diverse sales channels such as department stores, large supermarkets, and e-commerce platforms.
HiteJinro, which made a new equity investment in NT in August 2021, recognizing its core competencies, has decided to make an additional investment after focusing again on the achievements over the past two years and future potential. In fact, last year’s sales grew by about 70% compared to the previous year, and compared to August 2021 when HiteJinro first invested, the number of members and monthly visitors to NT’s online direct mall have increased by 56% and 40%, respectively.
Recently, NT is seeking differentiation by expanding shared farms and extending into production through seed cultivation research. Additionally, by expanding existing factories and increasing production capacity, sales growth is expected through the expansion of B2B transactions with large supermarkets, large food ingredient suppliers, side dish manufacturers, and online platforms.
