Minseon 8th Term Gimhae City, 144 Pledges Progressing Smoothly Without Delay
Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 29th that the promotion of the 8th term elected administration's pledge projects is progressing smoothly.
According to the city, a progress inspection meeting for each pledge project of the 8th term elected administration was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Hong Tae-yong on the same day.
This inspection was conducted to verify whether the pledge projects of Gimhae City’s 8th term elected administration are being properly implemented and to find solutions to immediate issues.
Earlier, from December last year for about 80 days, the city received the highest grade SA, the only one among basic local governments in Busan and Gyeongnam, in the 2023 Pledge Implementation Plan Evaluation conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
The 8th term elected administration’s pledge projects in Gimhae City total 144 and were established according to six major goals: ▲Open administration toward the future ▲Innovative education and economy preparing for 100 years ▲Green environment practicing carbon neutrality ▲Spatial innovation changing quality of life ▲Advanced medical care and welfare ▲Safe living and enjoyable culture.

Among the 144 pledges, 20 projects have been completed as of the end of August, including ▲Establishment of Gimhae City Apartment Management Support Center ▲Expansion of public Wi-Fi free zones in Oedong Traditional Market ▲Smartification of urban spaces and realization of smart city ▲Digital innovation for non-face-to-face public services ▲Expansion of resident autonomy councils ▲Introduction of citizen jury system for pledge evaluation.
Major pledge projects such as ▲Creation of Northeast Asia logistics platform ▲Expansion of subsidies for eco-friendly vehicles and charging stations ▲Early construction of metropolitan railway network ▲Establishment of Gimhae Public Medical Center ▲Shared space STATION-G for Gimhae youth, among 124 other projects, are being carried out smoothly and on schedule.
The city plans to prepare related measures and closely cooperate with relevant organizations to complete long-term projects such as ▲Promotion of Bieumsan Tunnel ▲Promotion of Chojeong~Hwamyung metropolitan road ▲Construction of Sinwol Station on the double-track railway from Bujeon to Masan.
After this inspection meeting, the city will continue to check the progress of the pledges quarterly, make improvements, and regularly disclose the progress and inspection results on the city’s website.

Mayor Hong said, “We will regularly check whether the pledge projects, which are promises to the citizens, are progressing smoothly and strive to complete them within the term. We will continuously communicate with citizens through pledge jury meetings and other means to implement the pledges so that citizens can feel the changes in Gimhae.”
