Dragonfly Returns to G-Star After 4 Years... Focusing on Diversifying Game Genres
Dragonfly announced on the 29th that it will participate in the G-STAR B2B hall to expand its game business.
G-STAR is the largest domestic game exhibition held at BEXCO in Busan from November 16 to 19. Following last year's record-breaking lineup of speakers and achievements after COVID-19, this year will also create a grand festival. In particular, according to the G-STAR organizing committee, the side event 'G-CON' will feature lectures by star developers representing the game industry and cover key topics currently permeating the game industry, such as AI (artificial intelligence), remakes, and IP (intellectual property).
Dragonfly, famous for the 'Special Force' IP, has officially decided to participate in G-STAR for the first time in four years since 2019. At the last G-STAR in 2019, they showcased VR (virtual reality) esports competitions and games. Through their booth, they plan to introduce games scheduled for release in the second half of the year and continue business-to-business relations. In addition to games, they will also present various content production business investments and discussions utilizing the IP business, as well as the game-type DTx (digital therapeutics) 'Guardians DTx,' which is being promoted as a new business.
Dragonfly has mainly provided services focused on the FPS (first-person shooter) genre PC game 'Special Force,' which has been their cash cow. Now, moving away from the FPS-only approach, they have started developing games in new genres and aim to explore improvement directions through diversification of game and IP businesses. They also plan to enhance user convenience by developing mobile versions of their games in addition to PC games.
Upcoming games that Dragonfly plans to release, co-developed with Entrunce, include ▲MMORPG game 'Project C,' ▲subculture idle defense game 'Project W,' and ▲subculture RPG game 'Project N.'
A Dragonfly representative said, "The company is currently striving for a new leap forward. Through this G-STAR, we will introduce new works in various genres as well as the game-type digital therapeutics currently under development as a new business," adding, "As we diversify into various genre games and IP businesses, we hope to secure new investment destinations and collaboration partners so that our company's reputation can be restored."

Meanwhile, Dragonfly's new business game-type digital therapeutics 'Guardians DTx' attracted significant attention from domestic and international related companies through participation in KIMES, the largest medical device exhibition in Korea. Accordingly, they plan to expand their business by promoting their ongoing new business at G-STAR, the largest domestic game exhibition.
