Leap to a Glocal University! ... Dongmyung University Expands International Student Recruitment
Dongmyung University is making comprehensive efforts to be selected as a GLOBAL University and one of the Ministry of Education's Glocal University 30 by visiting countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and China to sign agreements.
Recently, Dongmyung University signed an agreement with four three-year polytechnic colleges in Indonesia to implement a region-specific visa linkage program that allows foreign students to be recruited and to work and settle in domestic companies.
Students from the four universities skilled in the electrical field will participate in the region-specific visa program that enables them to transfer to Dongmyung University, graduate, find employment in industries near Busan, and reside in Busan.
At HUTCH University in Ho Chi Minh City, a dual degree program inauguration ceremony and Korean Culture Day (Dongmyung Open Day) event were held, where students majoring in Beauty Care at Dongmyung University performed a K-Beauty show.
The university agreed to expand this dual degree program to Ho Chi Minh University of Economics and Finance and also decided to support Korean language education for students from three international high schools (Royal School) preparing to study in Korea. An agreement was also signed with Lac Hong University in Ho Chi Minh City to establish a dual degree program where students study two years at each university.
Kwon Jung-rak, Director of the International Exchange Headquarters, said, “In the upcoming study abroad fair for Korean universities in the Ho Chi Minh area this September, we will directly select students participating in the dual degree program to expand the recruitment of international students.”
President Jeon Ho-hwan emphasized, “We have laid the groundwork for securing stable international students for the selection of Glocal University 30. Now, international students should be recognized not as foreigners who only obtain degrees in Korea and return home, but as ‘second citizens’ who find employment in Korea immediately after graduation and settle as Busan residents.”
