Busan City will hold ‘BOUNCE 2023’ for two days from September 7 to 8 at the Busan Eurasia Platform and Busan Workation Hub Center, with online pre-registration open until September 1.

Now in its seventh year, ‘BOUNCE 2023’ is one of Busan’s representative startup events, themed around ‘local startup ecosystems’ and ‘connections,’ under the slogan ‘BIND LOCAL CONNECTION.’ The event will include an opening ceremony, conference, investment and pitching sessions, and meetups.

About 120 experts from the startup ecosystem, including domestic and international investors and large and medium-sized enterprises, are expected to participate.

At the opening ceremony and conference, insights will be shared through keynote speeches and panel talks on topics such as ‘local startup ecosystems’ and ‘connections’ (community capital, technology-investment-industry linkage), solving local startup ecosystem issues (climate tech, remote work), domestic and international local startup ecosystem insights, and the sustainability of work (‘work’ and ‘rest’).

The ‘meetup’ will be a large-scale business venue with significant participation from investors and large and medium-sized enterprises. It will be divided into investment, open innovation, and entry into large distribution networks, providing opportunities to meet with investment firms and business representatives from large and medium-sized companies.

Currently, representatives from over 30 investment firms (including Lotte Ventures, Samsung Venture Investment, SparkLabs, Wine & Archer, POSCO Technology Investment, etc.) and about 26 large and medium-sized companies (including Naver Cloud, Lotte World, Lotte Home Shopping, Samsung Heavy Industries, GS Retail, KT, KB Kookmin Card, LG Electronics, SK C&C, etc.) have confirmed their direct participation.

During the ‘investment and pitching’ sessions, startup investment presentations (IR) by sector, reverse pitching by investment firms, and competitive pitching by startups preparing to enter the Japanese market will take place.

Additionally, forums and consultation booths involving startup ecosystem stakeholders from Spain, Dubai, Azerbaijan, Japan, and other countries will be operated.

In particular, through collaboration with the Busan Workation Hub Center, which opened earlier this year, a workation ecosystem forum will be held, and permanent consultation booths on workation and open innovation will be operated to share the current status, opportunities, and cases of the public and private workation ecosystems.

Furthermore, a Free Work Lounge will be operated to allow startups to freely promote (PR) and work simultaneously.

Online pre-registration for ‘BOUNCE 2023’ is available until September 1 through the official website.

Anyone interested in the startup ecosystem can apply for free, and various events will be held on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lee Seong-gwon, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, said, “As ‘BOUNCE 2023,’ Busan’s representative startup event, will be held at the Busan Eurasia Platform and Busan Workation Hub Center this year, I hope this event will help spread a startup culture where work and rest coexist.” He added, “Anyone interested in startups can participate, so I hope many people come and have a meaningful time.”
