Songpa-gu Seokchon and Pungnap Markets to Host 'Festival-Style Night Market'
September 1-2 Seokchon Night Market... Musical Gala Show, Magic Show, Cotton Candy Making with Children and Families... September 8 Pungnap Night Market... Newtro Concept Indie Performances, Flea Market, Dalgona Drawing, etc.
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) will hold the 'Songpa Night Market' at Seokchon Market on September 1 and 2, and at Pungnap Market on September 8, creating a space where residents and merchants can coexist.
Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the district explained that it plans to revitalize traditional markets by organizing a festival-style night market where local residents, merchants, and customers can enjoy and have a healing time together.
On September 1 and 2 (Saturday and Sunday), the 'Seokchon Market Night Market' with a camping vibe for families will be held. It will run from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on both days.
Considering the characteristics of Seokchon Market, which attracts many family visitors, it will be decorated with a ‘healing camping’ concept. Visitors can enjoy ▲stage performances such as a ‘musical gala show,’ ‘magic and bubble performances,’ ‘busking,’ and ‘resident talent shows’ suitable for children ▲a flea market selling eco-friendly household items, flowers, and accessories ▲and food trucks.
Additionally, various events such as ▲making dalgona candy, face painting, self-powered cotton candy making, and a four-cut photo booth will be held. Some food stalls will also be set up in front of certain restaurants to sell simple snacks, adding to the fun.
On September 8, the 'Pungnap Market Night Market' with a ‘newtro (new+retro)’ concept will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Combining the traditional market’s rustic scenery with the latest trends, a variety of attractions and activities have been prepared. These include ▲‘indie performances’ and ‘resident participation performances’ featuring retro music ▲a flea market where visitors can find nostalgic items like diskettes and game cartridges ▲and various nostalgic events such as ‘game machines’ and ‘dalgona candy scooping’ reminiscent of stationery stores in front of schools. These are expected to captivate visitors ranging from older generations to the MZ generation.
