Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular briefing on the 25th, in response to a question from Japanese media asking, "Will Prime Minister Kishida consider accepting the proposal for experts from both Japan and China to discuss based on scientific evidence?" that "What I want to reiterate is that Japan stubbornly proceeded with the discharge of nuclear contaminated water, openly shifting the risk of nuclear contamination to the entire world."
Prime Minister Kishida had said on the afternoon of the 23rd, after China imposed a complete ban on imports of Japanese seafood, that "we have expressed the intention to immediately lift the ban through diplomatic channels" and "strongly urge experts to discuss based on scientific evidence."

He further emphasized, "What I want to stress again is that China and other stakeholders have the right to take justifiable and reasonable preventive measures against Japan's extremely selfish and irresponsible wrongful actions."
