MFDS Publishes 'English Guidebook on Korea's Patent Linkage System'
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 25th that it has published the "English Introduction to the Korean Patent Linkage System" to assist ASEAN and other countries in benchmarking the Korean-style patent linkage system.
The patent linkage system is a mechanism that protects pharmaceutical patents by considering patent infringement during the drug approval process and promotes early market entry of generic drugs through priority marketing authorization.
This English introduction was published to help overseas companies, academia, and government agencies better understand and increase awareness of the Korean system amid growing international interest due to the spread of international trade agreements.
