On the 24th, an online community post titled "Is this really a new apartment ready for move-in?" was uploaded. The author, Mr. A, said, "I’m posting this because I’m doubtful about the new apartment in Sacheon, Gyeongnam, which is about to be occupied," and complained, "The responsible public officials are not managing or supervising properly, and they treat residents like thugs just by trusting the construction personnel, which is unfair."
Mr. A also shared photos with the post. The attached pictures show mold on the ceiling and cracks in the window frames. Some windows have come off their frames, and shoes don’t even fit into the shoe cabinet.
Mr. A said, "Residents say the window frame broke because they touched it, but what exactly is that window frame made of?" and added, "Who is the shoe cabinet, which cannot even fit a 240mm size, meant for?"

Mr. A said, "They say the sash broke because residents touched it, but what on earth is that sash made of?" and "Who is the shoe cabinet, which doesn’t even fit shoes of 240mm size, meant for?" He questioned, "This was the condition during the preliminary inspection; is this really normal?" and asked, "Does someone have to die among the residents for anyone to pay attention?"
He added, "There are obvious dangers lurking, but the company is trying to push forward with the move-in."
Prospective Residents Demand Sacheon City Hall Oppose Usage Approval
The problematic complex is Sacheon Samjeong Green Core Forest Apartments. It consists of 19 buildings with 1,295 households, two basement floors, and 15 floors above ground, and is scheduled for move-in next month.
Prospective residents discovered numerous defects during a three-day preliminary inspection starting on the 21st of last month and are requesting Sacheon City Hall to oppose the usage approval due to safety concerns.
The construction company claimed to have made repairs and reopened the site on the 23rd, but residents protested that the situation had not improved significantly. Although wallpaper was redone, there are still places where the wallpaper is peeling, and there are puddles in the underground parking lot, raising doubts about whether the leak problem has been resolved.
The company responsible for supervising the construction of this apartment was also involved in supervising some LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation) apartments where recent rebar omissions were discovered.

The supervising companies employ former LH executives and employees, and the police are investigating whether there were any preferential treatments during the bidding and evaluation processes. Regarding this, LH explained, "Although the supervising company is the same, the Sacheon apartment in question has no relation to LH."
Residents say that proper defect repairs will not be completed by the end of this month and plan to hold a rally opposing the apartment’s usage approval in front of Sacheon City Hall on the 25th.
