Receiving Nominations for Suncheon Citizen Award Candidates

Recommendation for Individuals Contributing to Community Development and Serving as Role Models for Citizens

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu) announced that it will accept nominations for the Suncheon Citizen Award, which honors those who have contributed to the development of the local community and brought distinction to the region, until the 15th of next month.

Candidates for the Suncheon Citizen Award are individuals or organizations who have significantly contributed to the development of the local community or enhanced the honor of Suncheon City in areas such as regional development, industrial economy, social welfare, culture and arts, or other fields, and who have continuously resided in Suncheon City for more than three years as of the announcement date.

However, if a person has notably enhanced the city's prestige domestically or internationally and is recognized for special achievements, they may be selected even if their registered domicile or address is not in Suncheon City.

The award recipient will be selected by the Suncheon Citizen Day Event Promotion Committee in accordance with Article 6 of the "Suncheon Citizen Award Ordinance," and the mayor will choose one final recipient to be honored at the Citizen Day event on October 15.

A Suncheon City official stated, “We ask for the citizens’ keen interest so that those who quietly work for regional development and serve as role models throughout the community can be properly recommended.”
