The ‘Gangseo-type Solar LED Building Number Plate’ featuring a moonlight pattern, first devised by a Seoul district, is being recognized as an exemplary administrative case.
Gangseo-gu, Seoul announced that it has been selected as an outstanding institution in the video category of the ‘2023 Address Policy Promotion and Autonomous Building Number Plate Best Practices Contest’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and will receive a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety.
The contest was promoted to discover and widely utilize excellent address policy promotion cases produced by local governments.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety received a total of 128 submissions across six categories from 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, and after a first round of expert evaluation and a second round of public voting, the best cases in each category were finally selected.
In June, the district submitted one video and seven best practice cases of autonomous building number plates to the contest.
The selected best practice, ‘Gangseo Moonlight Project for Our Neighbors,’ installed the ‘Gangseo-type Solar LED Building Number Plate’ made with a customized design unique to Gangseo-gu instead of the existing standard building number plates. The video highlighting the easy identification of building numbers at night and the subtle moonlight lighting effect received the highest score.
The district will publish the best practice on the Address Information Nuri website and actively share it as promotional material for address policies with local governments and public institutions nationwide.
