Trump "I Will Not Participate in the Republican Presidential Primary Debate"
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly announced that he will not participate in the Republican presidential primary debate scheduled ahead of next year's presidential election.
According to major foreign media on the 20th, Trump stated on his social network service (SNS), "The people know who I am and how successfully I performed as president." He then introduced his achievements, including "energy independence, strong borders and military, the largest tax cuts and deregulation in history, curbing inflation, and the strongest economy ever," adding, "Therefore, I will not participate in the (primary) debate."
Trump had previously expressed his intention multiple times not to attend the Republican primary debates. It appears he calculated that responding to hostile questions, such as those about criminal indictments, would be disadvantageous given his likely victory in the primary.
Trump has been criminally indicted four times this year related to his refusal to accept the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election. The British BBC reported, "These charges could theoretically lead to imprisonment if Trump is found guilty," but added, "However, experts believe that considering the implementation plans, security issues, and political aspects related to incarcerating a former president, a typical prison sentence is unlikely."
