Jindo-gun Donates 5 Million Won in Scholarships from August Donation Ambassadors

Donations Continue from Jindo Residents, Organizations, and Students

Residents and organizations of Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do recently donated over 5 million won in scholarships to the Jindo-gun Talent Development Scholarship Foundation.

According to the county on the 21st, the August donors include the Jindo-gun Flower Garden Association with 1 million won, Autobahn representative Heo Bogwang with 1 million won, Park Jeongwan, a first-year student at Jindo High School, and siblings Park Seonggyeong and Park Seonggyeong, second-year students at Jindo Middle School, with 200,000 won, Ryu Yeonwoo, a second-year student at Jindo Middle School, with 100,000 won, Jodo-myeon Sports Association with 1 million won, Jodo-myeon Village Chiefs Association with 1 million won, and Jodo-myeon Church Federation with 800,000 won.

The donors said, “We are happy to contribute a small part to nurturing local talents who will lead Jindo’s future,” and added, “We will continue to donate scholarships so that more people can take an interest in contributing to scholarships.”

Established in 2008, the Jindo-gun Talent Development Scholarship Foundation has raised 22.7 billion won in scholarship funds and currently holds 11.9 billion won as of August.

So far, it has disbursed a total of 10.8 billion won, including △ 3.6 billion won in scholarships △ 4.6 billion won in educational expenses △ 1.8 billion won for fostering prestigious high schools △ 800 million won for school facility support, greatly contributing to the development of local talent and education.

Kim Heesoo, the county governor, said, “We are grateful to everyone who shared the will to nurture local talents,” and added, “The donated scholarships will be used carefully to create a pleasant educational environment where our local talents can strive toward their dreams.”
