LG Electronics Tops OLED TV Market in First Half with Over 55% Share
LG OLED TV Shipments Reach 1,331,400 Units in First Half of the Year
In the first half of this year, LG Electronics shipped 1,331,400 OLED TVs, maintaining its solid No. 1 position in the global OLED TV market.
On the 21st, market research firm Omdia reported that LG Electronics accounted for approximately 55.7% of the total OLED TV market share by shipment volume in the first half of the year. Marking the 10th anniversary of OLED TV launches this year, LG has solidified its leadership position in the next-generation premium TV market with a majority share. OLED TVs, the top-tier lineup among LG Electronics' TV sales in the first half, accounted for up to 30% of the total.
In particular, in the first half of this year, following the trend of "the bigger the TV, the better," known as Geogeogikseon (巨巨益善), the share of ultra-large OLED TVs 75 inches and above in the total OLED TV market reached 11.4%. The shipment volume of ultra-large OLED TVs 75 inches and above has explosively grown at an average annual rate of over 90% over the past five years until last year.
LG Electronics recorded a dominant market share of approximately 64.2% by shipment volume in the ultra-large OLED TV market of 75 inches and above in the first half of this year. Leading with the 'LG SIGNATURE OLED M,' which features the world's first 4K·120Hz wireless solution on the largest 97-inch OLED TV currently available, launched last month, LG plans to continuously target demand for ultra-large and premium TVs in the second half of the year.

Meanwhile, global TV shipments in the first half of the year reached 92,706,600 units, maintaining a level similar to the previous year. The total global OLED TV shipments, including LG Electronics, were recorded at 2,392,000 units in the first half. LG Electronics' total TV shipments, including OLED and LCD, reached 10,482,400 units in the first half, capturing a 16.2% market share by value in the overall TV market.
