Discussing Copyrights with 14 Domestic Publishers and Agencies
Fifteen leading overseas publishers will visit Seoul from the 7th to the 11th of next month to hold copyright negotiation meetings with domestic publishers and agencies. This is part of the '2023 Overseas Publishers Exchange Program' conducted by the Literature Translation Institute of Korea. Fifteen companies from 11 countries have been invited to meet with 14 domestic publishers and agencies. Among the visiting publishers are 'Granta Books,' which introduced Han Kang's The Vegetarian, winner of the 2016 Man Booker Prize, to the UK, and the American publisher 'Farrar, Straus and Giroux (FSG),' known for publishing numerous Nobel and National Book Award-winning authors. FSG, which has no prior record of publishing Korean works, is reportedly interested in authors such as Kim Young-ha, Shim Sang-dae, Park Min-gyu, and Yoon Go-eun. Additionally, publishers from Denmark, France, Germany, Norway, Spain, T?rkiye, the UK, the US, Brazil, Mexico, and Egypt are participating.
Domestically, nine publishers including Changbi, Eunhaengnamu, Hyundai Munhak, Jaum & Moeum, Munhakgwa Jiseongsa, Munhakdongne, Sanjini, Wisdom House, and Gozneok ENT, along with five agencies?Novel Agency, BC Agency, Eric Yang Agency, Greenbook Agency, and Han Agency?are participating.
