Mayor Choi Dae-ho of Anyang Elected as Chairman of Administrative Council for Anyangcheon Beautification and Advancement
Choi Dae-ho, mayor of Anyang City, has been elected as the 3rd president of the 'Anyangcheon Beautification and Advancement Administrative Council.'
The Administrative Council officially launched in August 2021, consisting of eight local governments bordering Anyangcheon: Seoul's Guro, Geumcheon, Yeongdeungpo, and Yangcheon districts, and Gyeonggi's Gwangmyeong, Gunpo, Uiwang, and Anyang cities.
On the 17th, the Administrative Council held a regular general meeting via online video conference, electing Mayor Choi Dae-ho as president and Choi Ho-kwon, head of Yeongdeungpo District Office, as vice president. The term is two years.
Mayor Choi Dae-ho expressed, "The eight local governments will unite to develop Anyangcheon into a national garden, striving to contribute to improving residents' quality of life."
During the meeting, the Administrative Council shared cases of project implementation by each local government for the beautification and advancement of Anyangcheon and discussed plans to secure national funding and implementation strategies for each local government to establish the national garden.

Anyangcheon received approval as a 'Local Garden Development Site' from the Korea Forest Service in April. Gwangmyeong City, which oversees the project, is conducting detailed design this year, and will later obtain approval for the garden development plan from Gyeonggi Province before commencing construction of the local garden.
