Damyang-gun Showcases Locally Produced Agricultural Specialties at Jogyesa Temple
Participated in the 'Donong Win-Win Direct Market' to Sell 50 Discounted Items
On the 17th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it participated in the 'Urban-Rural Win-Win Direct Market' held for three days starting from the 16th at Jogyesa, the head temple of Korean Buddhism in Seoul, to promote and boost sales of excellent local agricultural and specialty products in major cities.
Five local companies participated in this market, offering more than 50 items including Damyang rice, a representative agricultural specialty of Damyang-gun, as well as traditional Korean sweets (Hangwa), melons, grapes, bamboo shoots, sauces, Jukro tea, and seaweed, all sold at a 20% discount.
The county focused on securing new customers by promoting Damyang Market, Damyang-gun’s representative online shopping mall, during the event.
To enable Jogyesa devotees to continue purchasing Damyang agricultural and specialty products even after the direct market, these products will be sold on ‘Seungsomall,’ Jogyesa’s online market.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “This direct market is expected to provide Jogyesa devotees and Seoul citizens with an opportunity to access excellent Damyang agricultural specialties at affordable prices, while greatly helping local farmers and processing companies secure sales channels and increase income.”
