AI Education Center Established at Incheon Port Sangsang Platform... Incheon City-Education Office 'AI Education City' Agreement
Incheon City announced on the 16th that it has signed a business agreement with the City Office of Education and Incheon Tourism Organization to create the 'Jemulpo Renaissance AI (Artificial Intelligence) Education City.'
According to the agreement, these organizations will designate and operate an AI education district centered around the Jemulpo area to strengthen the educational environment of the underdeveloped old downtown area, and establish an AI education center within the Sangsang Platform as a hub for promoting AI education.
The City Office of Education plans to establish an AI education center with an area of 1,752㎡ at the Sangsang Platform located at Pier 8 of Incheon Inner Port by October next year, utilizing it as a key educational space. Incheon City will support administrative procedures such as permits, and Incheon Tourism Organization will handle various tasks including providing the education center's rental space free of charge.
The City Office of Education will also pilot the software and AI education district operation until this year, and from next year, include 101 schools in the old downtown area in the AI education district to improve the digital environment and operate specialized programs.

Superintendent Doseong Hoon said, "This agreement is significant in that the Office of Education, local government, and related organizations are establishing a cooperative system to seek a win-win path for the future education of the old downtown area," adding, "We will continuously strive to develop the old downtown area into the foremost AI education zone in connection with the Jemulpo Renaissance project and to nurture global-level talents."

Mayor Yoo Jung-bok emphasized, "The Jemulpo Renaissance AI Education Center will play a major role in nurturing future talents and strengthening the educational environment of the old downtown area," and added, "We will expand from the Jemulpo area to Michuhol-gu, Seo-gu, and other old downtown areas to cultivate talents who will lead the future and build Incheon into a world-class city."
