The 63rd Presidential Cup National Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championships and National Team Selection Tournament saw Iksan City stand out.
On the 16th, Iksan City announced that it won first place in the men’s ?p?e individual event and the women’s sabre category.
On the 15th, at the 63rd Presidential Cup National Men's and Women's Fencing Championships and National Team Selection Tournament, Iksan City Hall won first place in the men's ?p?e individual event and the women's sabre event.

The tournament was held from the 13th to the 15th at the Hongcheon Sports Complex in Gangwon Province. The men’s and women’s foil events will take place from the 16th to the 18th.
Iksan City Hall’s Kwon Young-jun defeated Son Min-seong (Armed Forces Sports Unit) 15:12 in the men’s ?p?e individual event to claim the gold medal.
In the women’s sabre team event, Iksan City Hall (Choi Shin-hee, Choi Ji-young, Choi Soo-bin, Jo Ye-won) defeated Seoul City Hall (Kim Ji-yeon, Yoon Ji-soo, Kim Ha-eun, Jeon Ha-young), who was aiming for a double crown at this tournament, 45:41 to take the gold medal.
Kwon Young-jun said, “After returning from the World Championships, I experienced jet lag, but since this is the largest domestic tournament ahead of the Asian Games, I was eager to win. I am grateful to Coach Lee Soo-geun for his support during this tournament, and I will enter the athletes’ village on the 20th to focus on training for the AG gold medal.”
Meanwhile, in the men’s sabre individual event, Kim Jeong-hwan (Korea Sports Promotion Foundation) overcame injury and stood atop the Presidential Cup individual event podium for the first time in two years, demonstrating his resilience.
In the women’s sabre individual event, Jeon Ha-young of Seoul City Hall won the gold medal, following her victory at the national team selection tournament in June.
In the women’s ?p?e, Lim Tae-hee (Korea National Sport University) narrowly defeated world No. 5 Song Se-ra (Busan Metropolitan City Hall) 15-14 to claim the championship.
