'Statement Issued' Kang Sung-cheon, Gyeonggawon Director: "Preparing Organizational Improvement Plans Through Innovation"
On the 16th, the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency issued a media briefing to once again apologize to the residents of Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Assembly regarding the recent series of incidents, and announced plans to pursue institutional innovation and reform.
In a statement released that day, the agency promised, "To reform the institution, we will voluntarily request an audit from Gyeonggi-do, apply a zero-tolerance policy with strict accountability for misconduct and deviations, and prepare improvement measures through a cold and objective diagnosis by external professional organizations."
Furthermore, it added that alongside these reform efforts, it will devote itself more to its fundamental role of driving the innovative growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in Gyeonggi-do.
Kang Seong-cheon, head of the agency, stated, "We will take this incident as a lesson and work tirelessly for institutional innovation," and promised, "We will faithfully fulfill the commitments mentioned earlier to become a trusted and effective institution."
