"Daejeon City to Conduct Social Survey from This Month to Measure Citizens' Quality of Life"
Daejeon City will begin this year's local community survey starting this month.
Daejeon City announced on the 16th that it will conduct the "2023 Daejeon Social Survey" from the 16th of this month to the 25th of next month.
The Daejeon Social Survey has been conducted annually since 2011 to secure basic data necessary for policy formulation targeting citizens.
The survey targets approximately 12,000 people, including the heads of 5,000 households selected by sampling among households residing in Daejeon, and household members aged 15 or older (born before August 1, 2008).
The survey is primarily conducted through face-to-face visits by statistical investigators, but if the respondent prefers, it can also be conducted remotely (via the internet, etc.).
This year's survey items consist of 67 questions across seven fields: ▲Community ▲Social Welfare ▲Housing & Transportation ▲Family ▲Education ▲Labor ▲Income & Consumption.
Detailed topics include pride as a Daejeon citizen, preferences for youth development policies, issues faced by the elderly, satisfaction with pedestrian environments, support policies for childbirth, and average monthly expenditures on public and private education.
Additionally, the survey includes key issues and interest indicators related to Daejeon city administration, such as methods of preparing for old age, status of elderly drivers, usage of public bicycles "Tashu" and personal mobility devices, diversity of life partners, future childbirth plans, and consumption items and locations outside the Daejeon area, enabling customized policy use by relevant departments in the future.
The social survey is a nationally approved statistic based on Article 18 of the Statistics Act, and responses are protected under Article 33 of the Statistics Act. The survey results are scheduled to be announced on the Daejeon City website by the end of this year.
