Gwangju Seo-gu Opens 'God of Music' Course at Seobitmaru Culture and Arts Center

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) is focusing on strengthening residents' professional capabilities by continuously promoting the ‘Shin (神) Project’ in the economic and cultural fields.

On the 14th, Seo-gu announced that on the 12th, it opened the performing arts resident participation program ‘Music Shin (神)’ at Seobitmaru Culture and Arts Center.

This is the third ‘Shin (神) Project’ following ‘Jangsa Shin (神)’ for innovation in management strategies and sales increase for small business owners, and ‘Munhwa Shin (神)’ for nurturing young cultural planners.

‘Music Shin,’ which runs for a total of 12 weeks until November 4, is divided into musical and orchestra sections, with plans to conclude with a joint performance after basic theory and practical training.

The musical course includes musical theory education, work selection, vocal training, dance and acting practice, while the orchestra course involves selecting pieces and parts, ensemble practice, and will hold a joint performance with the musical on November 4 at Seobitmaru Culture and Arts Center.

A Seo-gu official said, “Through the Music Shin program, we will generously support all generations?from children and adolescents to young and middle-aged adults?to communicate and unite through music.”

Meanwhile, the Seobitmaru Culture and Arts Center, which opened last month, is a cultural and artistic space where rest, leisure, and music flow. It is a two-story building with about 300 seats and is equipped with professional performance facilities such as a stage, dressing rooms, and practice rooms.

In addition, various performances and resident participation programs will be planned and presented to expand residents’ opportunities to enjoy culture.
