Kim Dong-yeon: "I will take care of the Gyeonggi-do Jamboree participants until the end"
Gyeonggi Province will provide maximum support to the Scout participants who wished to remain in Gyeonggi Province even after the closing of the '2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree.' As of the 13th, there are about 2,400 Scouts from 22 countries staying in Gyeonggi Province.
After receiving news on the 12th that the Scouts wished to stay longer, Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon said, "We will take care of the Jamboree Scouts who want to stay longer in Gyeonggi Province until the very end," and added, "We will mobilize all available resources to support accommodations, food, safety issues, and more so that the Scouts can experience Gyeonggi Province and South Korea more broadly and deeply before they return. Please do your best until the last Scout departs."
Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province will continue to provide accommodations, meals, transportation, and cultural experiences to the Scouts who remain, just as before.
Since the 9th, Gyeonggi Province has been providing 58 accommodations to Jamboree participants who have left the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree and were assigned to Gyeonggi Province. Additionally, 2,050 provincial and municipal officials have been dispatched to ensure there are no inconveniences in daily life. In particular, 87 cultural and experiential programs have been offered, including ceramic experiences at the Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum, visits to representative tourist sites such as Dorasan Observatory, the Third Tunnel, and Yungneung Royal Tomb, as well as art galleries and museums.
