August: The Month for Resident Tax Payment
Gwanak-gu: "August is the Month for Resident Tax Payment, Don’t Forget"
Applicable to individuals, sole proprietors, and corporations with an address or business place in the area as of July 1
Resident tax property portion and equal portion integrated into business place portion due to Local Tax Act amendment; reporting and payment in August
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) will conduct resident tax reporting and payment throughout August.
Since 2021, due to amendments in the Local Tax Act, the existing resident tax property portion and the equal portions for sole proprietors and corporations have been combined into the business place portion, consolidating the reporting and payment period into August.
The taxpayers subject to payment are individuals (head of household), sole proprietors, and corporations with an address or business place in Gwanak-gu as of July 1. Individual portions must be paid between August 16 and 31, and the business place portion by August 31.
Payments can be made at all banks nationwide, unmanned payment kiosks, CD/ATM machines, convenience stores, or through dedicated tax payment accounts. Additionally, payments can be conveniently made without visiting in person via the Seoul tax payment website (ETAX), the Seoul tax payment app (STAX), or ARS.
In particular, using STAX to pay within the deadline accumulates mileage points, which can be used for tax payments, donations, or mileage conversions (such as passenger car mileage or My Shinhan Points).
