Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Appoints Hwang Hak-beom as New Head of Management Division
We Will Develop Asia's Leading Comprehensive Logistics Port
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority appointed Hwang Hak-beom, former Director General of General Affairs at Gwangyang City, as the new Head of the Management Headquarters on the 11th and presented him with the appointment letter.
Hwang Hak-beom, appointed as the 5th Head of the Management Headquarters at Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, began his career in 1978 as a local administrative secretary and served as a local secretary until his retirement in 2018, dedicating over 40 years to public service.
Additionally, in 1997, when the first phase of the Gwangyang Port container terminal was under development, he served as the Head of Port Administration and the Director of Port Logistics at Gwangyang City Hall, promoting activation policies such as the establishment of new shipping routes, thereby establishing his connection with Gwangyang Port.
The newly appointed Head of Management Headquarters, Hwang Hak-beom, stated, “Yeosu Gwangyang Port meets the requirements as a global integrated port and is a great treasure for the national economy and regional development. I will devote all my efforts to nurturing Yeosu Gwangyang Port into Asia’s top integrated logistics port, utilizing the experience and know-how gained from my 40 years of public service.”
He added, “Let us all unite our efforts to create a small but strong organization capable of great achievements, making Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority the most competitive in the country.”
Hwang’s term as Head of the Management Headquarters is two years starting from August 11, 2023, with the possibility of renewal on a one-year basis depending on management performance.
