Gwanak-gu, High Satisfaction with On-site Integrity Education
Small-scale Department Visits for Integrity Education Focused on Preemptive Prevention and Improvement in Corruption-Prone Areas
Expecting the Spread of Anti-Corruption and Integrity Commitment through Communication and Empathy Talks
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Junhee) operated an Integrity Picnic for a total of 57 employees from 8 departments in Gwanak-gu from July 25 to August 2 to promote the culture of integrity.
The Integrity Picnic is a form of integrity education that involves informal conversation and communication. Last year, the district first conducted visiting integrity talks targeting employees from 7 departments, which received great responses.
This education was conducted by the head and staff of the Gwanak-gu Audit Team, who directly visited the departments in charge of permits, finance, and taxation.
The education content included ▲improvement plans for corruption-prone areas ▲active administration ▲audit cases, routine audits and contract reviews ▲promotion of corruption and public interest reporting, and the power harassment reporting center. It focused on preemptive prevention and improvement through sharing cases of corruption-prone areas.
After the education, a satisfaction survey showed that 96.2% found the content helpful for their work, and 94.3% responded that small-group education was effective in improving integrity awareness.
One employee who attended the education said, “Because the education was conducted in a small group, I was able to focus on the content, and since the education was conducted by the responsible team leader and officer rather than an external instructor, it was easier to understand the material.”
