Park Jun-gu, Chairman of Wooshin Chemtech Co., Ltd. (Philosophy '62), donated a total of 500 million KRW, including 450 million KRW to the College of Liberal Arts Development Fund and 50 million KRW to the Philosophy Research Institute Fund at his alma mater, Korea University.

View original imageKorea University (President Kim Dong-won) held the 'Park Jun-gu Wooshin Chemtech Co., Ltd. Chairman College of Liberal Arts Development Fund and Philosophy Research Institute Fund Donation Agreement Ceremony' at 10 a.m. on the 9th at the Korea University Main Building in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
Chairman Park explained the background of his donation, saying, "I decided to donate once again with the hope that the juniors in the College of Liberal Arts can study the humanities in a better environment and that the environment for professional philosophy research will improve. I hope that Korea University, the hometown of my heart, will continue to develop."
President Kim Dong-won of Korea University expressed his gratitude, saying, "We are thankful that Chairman Park Jun-gu, a proud alumnus of the College of Liberal Arts, is providing great support for the university's development in nurturing the next generation. We will use the donation well so that Chairman Park's noble heart is conveyed to the juniors."

Since 2014, Chairman Park has continuously donated to foster humanities convergence talents and to publish a humanities series. Korea University has operated the 'Park Jun-gu Fund' named after the donor as a form of donor recognition, and as part of this, has implemented the 'Park Jun-gu Humanities General Series Publication Project' and held humanities convergence seminar lectures. In 2021, he continued his donations for juniors by contributing to the construction of the Korea University Humanities Building and for 'Digital Humanities Education' at the College of Liberal Arts.
