Gumi-si Establishes Nakdong River Cultural Belt Cooperation System for Designation as a Cultural City
Establishing a Cooperation and Support System Among Major Cultural Cities in the Gyeongbuk Region
The Gumi City Cultural City Support Center held an inter-city meeting on the 8th at the Gyeongbuk Design-Driven Manufacturing Innovation Center to establish a cooperative system for the (tentatively named) Nakdong River Cultural Belt, aiming to leap forward as a hub cultural city in the Gyeongsang region ahead of the cultural city contest application.
The Nakdong River Cultural Belt refers to a cooperative system among cities in the Nakdong River area, serving as a leading model in the Gyeongsang region for cultural city activities and delivering social effects to neighboring cities.
The meeting was attended by Dalseong-gun and Chilgok-gun, major cultural cities connected by the Nakdong River in Gyeongbuk, Andong-si (preliminary), and Gumi-si and Seongju-gun, which are preparing for cultural city designation.
They shared the current status of cultural city projects in each city and discussed continuous cooperation and support systems to establish a leading model in the Gyeongsang region encompassing both Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam provinces.
