Seocho-gu Launches Patriotism Photo Tour
‘Seocho-gu Patriotism Photo Tour’ for Youth on Summer Vacation Runs Until the 25th
Program aims to honor the noble spirit of sacrifice of those who dedicated themselves to the nation and foster a sense of patriotism
The first 100 participants who visit at least three local memorial or patriotic sites and upload verification photos to the district website will receive commemorative gifts

Seocho-gu (Mayor Jun Sungsoo) is operating the ‘Seocho-gu Patriotism Photo Tour’ for youth on summer vacation, providing an opportunity to learn about the achievements of national patriots and the spirit of love for the country.
The ‘Seocho-gu Patriotism Photo Tour,’ co-hosted by the district and the Seocho-gu branch of the Korean War Veterans Association, is designed to help young people remember the noble sacrifices of those who served the nation and to foster a sense of patriotism by encouraging them to visit local memorial and patriotic sites.
Youth who wish to participate must visit at least three out of eight local memorial or patriotic sites and upload verification photos showing their participation to the ‘Seocho-gu Patriotism Photo Tour’ bulletin board on the district office website.
Seocho-gu is home to eight memorial and patriotic sites: Maehon Yun Bonggil Memorial Hall, Shimsan Kim Changsook Memorial Hall, Samil Tower, Major Kang Jaegu Statue, 6·25 Korean War Veterans Memorial, Baekma Unit Memorial Tower, Memorial Monument, and Seocho-gu Patriots’ Hall.
The program is open to students who are either attending elementary, middle, or high schools in the district or residing in the area. The first 100 participants will receive commemorative gifts provided by the Seocho-gu branch of the Korean War Veterans Association. The program runs until the 25th.
In addition, the district is making various efforts to honor and improve the welfare of local patriots and their families. Support includes the Seocho-gu Patriotism Honor Allowance (70,000 KRW per month), Spouse Welfare Allowance (70,000 KRW per month), annual consolation payments for members of patriotic organizations (210,000 KRW), annual support for nine patriotic organizations (3,000,000 KRW), and annual consolation payments for war veterans (450,000 KRW).
