Chaos at Jamboree, K-pop Concert Venue Changed Again from Jeonju to Seoul
Typhoon Approaches, Saemangeum Jamboree Ends Early
K-Pop Concert to Be Held at Seoul Sangam Stadium on the 11th
The '2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree K-pop Super Live' (hereinafter 'Jamboree K-pop Concert') will be held on the 11th at Seoul Sangam World Cup Stadium, avoiding the approaching 6th typhoon Khanun.
As the possibility of typhoon Khanun changing its course and making landfall on the Korean Peninsula increases, the government announced on the 7th that it will activate Plan B related to the Saemangeum Jamboree.

The Jamboree K-pop Concert, originally scheduled to be held at the Saemangeum outdoor stage in Buan, Jeonbuk the previous day, was planned to be moved to Jeonju World Cup Stadium on the 11th due to a surge in heat-related illnesses amid the heatwave.
However, as typhoon Khanun approached, the venue was changed to Sangam World Cup Stadium in Mapo-gu, Seoul. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Khanun is expected to affect most regions nationwide from the 9th. The typhoon is anticipated to bring heavy rain and strong winds across the Korean Peninsula.
Accordingly, the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree decided to end early. Approximately 36,000 participants will leave the campsite sequentially starting from 10 a.m. on the 8th.
The 'World Scout Jamboree' is a global youth camping festival held every four years by the World Organization of the Scout Movement. The '2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree' was notable as the first event held in Korea in 32 years since the 17th World Scout Jamboree in Goseong, Gangwon Province in 1991, and as the largest international youth event held domestically since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hosted by the Korea Scout Association and organized by the 2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree Organizing Committee, the KBS 1TV '2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree K-pop Super Live' was expected to be a venue where youth from over 170 countries communicate through K-pop.
The World Organization of the Scout Movement reportedly requested changing the concert venue from Jeonju, which is within the typhoon's impact zone, to Seoul.
The concert MC was to be actor Jang Dong-yoon, with performances by groups IVE, Zerobaseone, NMIXX, STAYC, Lee Chae-yeon, NATURE, and others, but changes are inevitable.
Jang Dong-yoon will not participate due to the schedule change. His agency stated, "He is unable to attend on the 11th due to filming for his next drama." The lineup of singers is also likely to change.
