Yangcheon-gu Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Childcare Town and Officially Begins Construction
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that on the morning of the 7th, it held the 'Yangcheon-gu Childcare Town Groundbreaking Ceremony' at the project site located in Sinjeong 7-dong.
The 'Yangcheon-gu Childcare Town,' scheduled for completion in 2025 with a budget of 24 billion KRW, will be a complex facility housing childcare service providers, constructed on a scale of 4,572㎡ spanning from two basement levels to five above-ground floors.
Inside, various facilities such as a Comprehensive Childcare Support Center, Toy Library and Shared Childcare Room, Infant Experience Center, Kiwoom Center, and a district-run daycare center will be established.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including Mayor Lee Gi-jae of Yangcheon-gu, key guests, and representatives of resident institutions. The event proceeded with a progress report on the ceremony, an explanation of the construction status, and the groundbreaking shovel ceremony.

Visiting the site for a preliminary inspection and urging safe construction progress, Mayor Lee Gi-jae of Yangcheon-gu said, “We will ensure the Yangcheon-gu Childcare Town is completed safely and without setbacks to become a milestone for a childbearing and childcare-friendly environment.”
