This mutual cooperation was promoted during the ESG consultation process utilizing hiking-related big data analyzed by Kakao VX for the conservation of the natural environment of national parks. The two organizations agreed to ▲ share national park big data analysis results free of charge and mutually cooperate to improve data quality ▲ jointly promote national park ESG hiking campaigns ▲ conduct a pilot project issuing companion certificates via kiosks to guide movement along official trails ▲ jointly utilize satellite data of national parks and explore new public services.
By analyzing GPS data of people using forest trails and hiking paths nationwide, they will measure real-time visitor congestion and usage frequency. The two organizations expect that utilizing the analyzed big data will help predict risks in congested areas and minimize the impact on ecosystems.
Moon Tae-sik, CEO of Kakao VX, said, "We will work closely with the Korea National Park Service to practice data-driven ESG management for natural environment conservation, striving to make hiking more enjoyable and safer by leveraging technology."
