Exhibition of Mosi and More at 'Hanbok Sangjeom' by Korea Traditional Culture University
The Korea National University of Cultural Heritage announced on the 7th that it will hold an exhibition themed on traditional Korean summer clothing at the Hanbok Fair "Hanbok Sangjeom," taking place from the 10th to the 13th at COEX Hall D in Seoul. The exhibition will showcase traditional garments made from fabrics woven by professors and students of the Department of Traditional Fine Arts and Crafts, featuring textiles made from moshi and chunpo. It will display the elegance and various applications of moshi and chunpo, which have long been cherished as summer fabrics. Moshi is a fabric woven from the infibers of the ramie plant, which belongs to the nettle family, while chunpo is a woven fabric combining silk and moshi threads.

The Korea National University of Cultural Heritage continues educational and research activities to inherit and utilize related techniques. Since 2008, traditional weaving practice using moshi has been included as a regular curriculum, and in 2017, the university was selected as a transmission education school for "Hansan Mosijjagi" (Hansan Moshi Weaving). It fosters specialized personnel for related intangible cultural heritage and consistently produces sewing works using moshi.
