Everland Releases Photos of 'Twin Pandas' One Month After Birth
Black markings become distinct on eyes, ears, and shoulders
Weight 180g, 140g → 1.1kg, 1.2kg
Everland, operated by Samsung C&T Resort Division, released photos on the 7th of the country's first twin pandas born through natural breeding, who recently reached one month of age. It can be seen that their slightly chubbier bodies now clearly show the characteristic black markings around their eyes, ears, shoulders, arms, and legs.
The twin pandas, both female, were born to mother Aibao and father Lubao living in Everland Panda World on the 7th of last month, weighing 180g and 140g respectively at birth. Both the mother and the baby pandas remain in good health.
The first domestic twin pandas born weighing 180g and 140g are now 1.1kg and 1.2kg respectively at one month old, growing healthily with weights increasing more than 6 times and 8 times their birth weights. The first born is on the left, the second born on the right.

During a health checkup on their 30th day, the twin pandas weighed 1.1kg and 1.2kg, showing rapid growth with their weights increasing more than sixfold and eightfold respectively within a month. The twins recently succeeded in rolling over for the first time.
Currently, considering that mother Aibao finds it difficult to care for both cubs simultaneously, keepers and veterinarians are providing artificial rearing alongside maternal care. When Aibao cares for one cub, the other is taken to an incubator where a keeper looks after it, with artificial rearing alternating so that both cubs can spend sufficient time with their mother.
Keeper Kang Cheol-won from Everland said, "Aibao is skillfully caring for the twins by applying her parenting experience from the first baby panda in Korea, Fubao," adding, "We adjust the feeding frequency and formula amount according to the twins’ health status and growth stages."
The growth of the twin pandas can be followed on Everland’s official YouTube channel, the Talking Animals Zoo Puppa TV YouTube channel, Everland’s blog, and the Zootopia Naver cafe, where related videos have collectively surpassed 30 million views, showing their popularity. In particular, a recently released video featuring keeper Song Young-gwan introducing how to distinguish the twin pandas attracted much attention from panda fans. Keeper Song explained that the first-born twin resembles father Lubao with a V-shaped black marking on its back, while the second has a U-shaped black back marking like mother Aibao.

The twin pandas are expected to start crawling sequentially according to their growth stages, develop eyesight, and begin walking on all fours around four months of age. Currently, the twins are feeding on both mother’s milk and formula, and are expected to start eating bamboo around six months old, at which point they will likely be able to meet visitors in the Panda World enclosure.
