Hunting for Contests and Winning Various Competition Awards
The Department of Entertainment Arts at Dongmyung University is emerging as a ‘Contest Killer.’ With a series of recent awards, it has become common to say that any competition involving this department is a ‘sure win.’
Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan), Do-ing College (Dean Gam Young-hee), Department of Entertainment Arts does not discriminate between internal events and external competitions. They hunt for awards in every contest without exception. University faculty actively encourage participation, and students target contests as a ‘Doing (practice)’ option.
Recently, students placed third in the 2024 Dongmyung University College and Department Promotional Video Contest. The student startup club ‘Do-ing Onbit’ was selected as an outstanding club at the Startup Club Startup Competency Enhancement Networking Camp (hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation, organized by Dongmyung University LINC3.0 Project Group). Additionally, they won the Excellence Award at this year’s Busan Volunteer Shorts Video Contest (hosted by the Busan Volunteer Center) with the video titled ‘A Bright Future Where Everyone Volunteers.’
Professor Kim Hyun-min, who advises Do-ing Onbit, said, “Considering the expanding one-person media market, we will do our best to expand the club’s operational direction and strengthen its capabilities.”
Professor Lee Woo-young of the department stated, “The Department of Entertainment Arts will provide the latest trend job groups leading K-Culture,” adding, “This information is abundantly available on the Dongmyung University website.”
The Department of Entertainment Arts at Dongmyung University is a specialized department for creative K-Culture education, preparing for the rapidly growing K-Pop and broadcasting entertainment industry changes.

Students can choose between the YouTube Creator major and the Digital Performing Arts major. The department is equipped with 11 individual media creative studios and digital theaters, among other entertainment arts educational facilities.
