Arrest Warrant to Be Requested for Man Carrying Weapon at Gangnam Express Bus Terminal
Additional Investigation Following Posted Murder Threat
The police are planning to request an arrest warrant for a man in his 20s who was carrying a weapon at the Seoul Gangnam Express Bus Terminal.
On the 5th, the Seoul Seocho Police Station plans to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of special intimidation and attempted murder once the investigation is completed.
At around 10:39 a.m. on the 4th, the police responded to a security guard's report of "a man carrying a knife at the express bus terminal" and seized two weapons. Mr. A was apprehended at approximately 10:45 a.m. on the first floor of the Gyeongbu Line building at the Seoul Express Bus Terminal.
The police are conducting a comprehensive investigation, including analyzing closed-circuit television (CCTV), interviewing witnesses, and performing forensic analysis on his mobile phone to determine the circumstances and reasons why Mr. A was carrying the knives. In particular, they confirmed that Mr. A posted on social networking services (SNS) that he intended to stab and kill a police officer, and are conducting additional investigations.
