Deputy Governor Oh first visited the Hwaseong City Hall Heatwave Countermeasure Disaster Situation Room to check the response status and then urged, "Following the heavy rain, the heatwave has immediately followed, causing continuous emergency duty. Although this is challenging, please do not let your guard down and respond quickly and thoroughly to minimize casualties for the safety of citizens."
He then visited the apartment construction site in Bongdam-eup, Hwaseong City, and the Namjeon 2-ri Senior Center in Bibong-myeon, Hwaseong City, to inspect the facilities and operation status for preventing heat-related illnesses among vulnerable groups.
At the site, Deputy Governor Oh stated, "Since construction sites are concentrated in Gyeonggi Province, and the incidence rate of heat-related illnesses among site workers accounts for 36% of all heat illness cases, prevention measures are crucial. Please pay attention to creating a healthy working environment and ensuring that rest times are observed."
After inspecting the operation status of air conditioners at the senior center, he added, "Please actively guide people to refrain from outdoor activities such as farming during the heatwave and to spend the summer healthily at heatwave shelters."
