Anyang City to Hold 'Resident Briefing Session' on GTX Line C on the 16th
The city of Anyang in Gyeonggi Province will hold a draft environmental impact assessment briefing session for residents regarding the Metropolitan Area Express Railway (GTX) Line C private investment project at the city hall auditorium on the 16th.
The GTX Line C private investment project aims to alleviate chronic traffic congestion in the metropolitan area by connecting major hub stations (Deokjeong Station to Cheongnyangni Station, Samsung Station to Suwon Station) within 30 minutes.
It passed the review by the Ministry of Economy and Finance's Private Investment Project Deliberation Committee on July 19 and is scheduled to begin construction in the first half of next year, with a target completion in 2028.
The section within Anyang City extends a total of 5.05 km, with related construction planned at Indeogwon Station.
At this residents' briefing session, the project implementer, Metropolitan Area Express Railway C Line Co., Ltd. (tentative name), will explain the environmental impact assessment report to residents, including potential environmental issues arising from the project and countermeasures, and collect their opinions.
Earlier, the public viewing of the GTX-C Line environmental impact assessment report began on July 25.
Residents can review the environmental impact assessment report at the city hall (Environmental Policy Division, Railway Transportation Division) and nine district administrative welfare centers (Gwanyang 1 & 2-dong, Burim-dong, Pyeongchon-dong, Pyeongan-dong, Hogye 2-dong, Beomgye-dong, Anyang 7 & 8-dong) until the 24th of this month.
Residents with opinions can submit them in writing at the public viewing locations or register them on the Environmental Impact Assessment Information Support System by 6 p.m. on the 31st of this month.
