The student team ‘Doing On Bit’ from the Department of Entertainment Arts at Dongmyung University Do-ing College received the Excellence Award at the ‘2023 Busan Volunteer Shorts Video Contest.’
Doing On Bit recently submitted a shorts video titled ‘A Bright Future Where Everyone Volunteers’ to the contest hosted by the Busan Volunteer Center and won an award.
This contest, held until May 14, aimed to discover diverse video content on the free theme of volunteer activities and to raise public awareness about volunteering.
The selected works were judged based on a total score of 100 points, with 20 points each for interest and relevance, originality, completeness, and promotional effect.
The team was recognized for creatively depicting a skit about the battle against COVID-19 with innovative ideas and high-quality visuals.
The selected video content from the contest will be distributed to centers and related organizations in the Busan area to be used as promotional material for volunteering.
The student team realistically recreated the spread of the virus and the painful situations faced by people, capturing the devoted efforts of medical staff who protect and treat society based on sacrifice and determination.
The story unfolds showing how, through the dedication and passion of these medical professionals, the virus is overcome and happiness and peace are restored.
Team leader An Ji-gyeon said, “We wanted to emphasize the strength and courage of our country’s medical staff who fought against COVID-19 and to admire and encourage their hard work,” adding, “We symbolically expressed the difficulties and pain faced by our medical staff and the results they achieved through their relentless effort and sacrifice.”
Deputy team leader Son Je-won said, “Doing On Bit means Do-ing, which signifies trying anything, and warm light, representing leading the world forward,” and added, “We will passionately work to strengthen the operational direction of Doing On Bit.”
