Namhae-gun Urges Compliance with Prevention and Quarantine Guidelines for Respiratory Infectious Diseases in Summer
The Namhae-gun Public Health Center in Gyeongnam recently urged compliance with quarantine rules, stating that the number of patients with respiratory infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and influenza (flu) is increasing.
According to the Namhae-gun Public Health Center, influenza (flu), which is mainly prevalent from winter to spring, is unusually increasing this summer, especially among the student age group (7?18 years old).
In addition, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Namhae-gun in July was 697, a sharp increase compared to 244 cases last month. Notably, 51.9% of the confirmed cases are elderly patients with underlying diseases, who are at high risk of developing severe symptoms upon infection.
To prevent respiratory infectious diseases, voluntary personal quarantine measures such as ▲ ventilating indoor spaces for more than 30 minutes three times a day ▲ washing hands with soap under running water for more than 30 seconds ▲ observing proper cough etiquette ▲ avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth with hands ▲ wearing masks and seeking medical treatment when respiratory symptoms appear are necessary.
